Description of the Classes

This is a class limited only to puppies between the age of 12 weeks to 12 months. This is to help with the puppy woes and worries of teaching the simplest steps in getting your puppy out and about. This class will teach some basic commands of sit, down, stay, come when called and leash work. The class also consists of socialization and working on games to teach your puppy how to learn. For the safety of your puppy, he/she will need to have had at least their second set of puppy vaccinations to attend.

You and your dog will learn the basics of training and games to help improve your training skills. At the end of six weeks, your dog will come when called, walk on a loose leash, sit, down, and stay. There will also be information regarding socialization, grooming, health, and basic household manners.

For this class, the dog needs to know all of the individual elements of Novice Obedience in the show ring. (Sit, stay, down, heel with attention, stand, come, and finish.) Work will be done on handling your dog in and out of the ring, setting up for exercises, building enthusiasm, attire, rules, and regulations, proofing and polishing the exercises. Instructor approval is required.

This class is for puppies 6 months and younger. It is aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R puppy certificate, you will learn basic commands and some household manners training. At the end of the 6 weeks course your instructor will administer the S.T.A.R puppy test.

This class will focus on course work for the Advanced and Excellent levels of AKC Rally.

CGC is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.
